Sant Jordi 2024: what to do to celebrate the day of the flower and the book in Barcelona
Workshops, book presentations, shows and interesting dialogues with authors will be some of the activities that will take place during these days to commemorate Sant Jordi 2024.
Next Tuesday, April 23rd, Sant Jordi 2024 will be celebrated. The city dresses up and the streets are filled with the traditional stalls of books and roses.
It is the perfect opportunity to give a gift to your partner, friend or family, along with spending a few spectacular days in the Catalan capital.
Here are some of the events and activities that are organized around this date:
1.- Open doors emblematic buildings of the city: Thanks to the open day, many of the emblematic buildings of the city, such as museums and institutes will open their doors to the public free of charge:
-. Palau de la Generalitat: 20th and 21st April from 11:00 to 21:00 hrs.
-. Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau: April 23 from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm -.
-. Mies Van der Rohen Pavilion: April 23 from 10:00 to 20:00 hrs.
-. Ateneu Barcelonès: April 23 from 11:00 to 20:00 hrs.

2.- Visit the most iconic book and flower stalls in the city: 425 book and rose stalls will be set up in the city. The main organizers of the celebration of Sant Jordi, the Chamber of Books of Catalonia and the Guild of Booksellers of Catalonia, have confirmed that this year Barcelona will not only recover the Ramblas, but will release a new model "more distributed" that will have bookstalls, florists and neighborhood organizations to the Santa Monica Arts Center, so it is the first time in history that the 7 districts will have several stops.
3.- Sant Jordi Musical: As every year you can enjoy entertaining free concerts in the old Estrella Damm factory. From noon to nine in the evening, the old brewery will host twenty-two artists performing live. Some of the most anticipated performances will be by Figa Flawas, who have recently presented their work 'La Calçotada' and La Fúmiga, who will perform some pieces from their latest album.
4.- Visit the facade of the Casa Batlló: As every year the facade of the Casa Batlló dresses up with more than a thousand red roses. Undoubtedly, a spectacle not to be missed.
